Lana Oliveros Receives Highest Distinction in the GLAS Major
Introduction
Congratulations to Lana Oliveros who earned a highest distinction in the GLAS Major. Her Highest Distinction project, “From Baguio to Uptown” was based on her capstone project for GLAS 300: Global Asia in Chicago which was completed in 2024 under the guidance of Prof. Anna Guevarra.
This award recognizes Lana’s exceptional work in GLAS classes as well as her other contributions to the GLAS Program and to the broader Asian American community at UIC and in Chicago.
Lana truly exemplifies the highest aspirations oof Global Asian Studies.
