“Know Your Rights” Session for International Students
August 13, 2020
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

ISSEO (International Students Supporting Each Other), and a coalition of UIC Law organizations, UNIDOS (United Immmigration Defense Organization of Students) are jointly organizing a ”Know Your Rights'' session for international students. The session is meant to address questions about the constitutional rights and legal resources available to international and undocumented students, as it impacts our education, employment, housing, interactions with law enforcement, and more.
The July 6 DHS guidance visiblized the vulnerability of international students in the US. We believe that the first step towards mitigating this vulnerability is to know our rights and what constitutional and legal protections to which we are entitled. We invite you to attend this event and bring forth any questions you may have, specific to your experience as an international student in the United States.
We are joined by the following panelists:
Renae M Yoo (The Law Offices of Renae M. Yoo)
Fred Tsao (Sr. Policy Counsel at Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights)
Matthew S. Kriezelman (Kriezelman Burton & Associates, LLC.)
Registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link before the event! Please RSVP using the following link: https://bit.ly/Uickyr
Registration closes August 13, 12:00 PM, and registrants will receive the event link soon after.
Live captioning will be available. For access needs or for more information, please contact: uicisseo@gmail.com.
