Understanding policing at UIC and Chicago to build a mass movement for abolition.

This virtual event will feature speakers from UIC who will offer an introduction to abolitionist organizing, and speak to police brutality and related social issues in the context of UIC and Chicago. Join us to learn and build a mass movement for abolition! The speakers are:

Dr. Beth Richie, Professor of Criminology, Law and Justice & African American Studies

Dr. David Stovall, Professor of African American Studies & Criminology, Law and Justice

Dr. Julian Thompson, Assistant Professor of Criminology, Law and Justice

Dr. Nicole Nguyen, Associate Professor of Education Policy Studies

Dr. Andy Clarno, Associate Professor of Sociology & African American Studies
