Mary Anne Mohanraj Received Tamil American Pioneer Award 2022 from FeTNA
Dr. Mary Anne Mohanraj, GLAS affiliate faculty, has received a Tamil American Pioneer (TAP) Award for 2022 from the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North American (FeTNA) for her pioneering efforts in the field of Human Rights.
FeTNA is a non-profit organization representing and recognizing the work of Tamils from South Asia who are living in the US (https://tap.fetna.org). Mary Anne will be recognized at the annual TAP Awards Ceremony in New York on July 2-3, 2022 as part of FeTNA’s annual convention.
Dr. Mohanraj is a clinical associate professor of English and an affiliate faculty with the Global Asian Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
She is also the author of Bodies in Motion (HarperCollins), The Stars Change (Circlet Press) and thirteen other titles. Bodies in Motion was a finalist for the Asian American Book Awards, a USA Today Notable Book, and has been translated into six languages. The Stars Change was a finalist for the Lambda, Rainbow, and Bisexual Book Awards.
