Michael Jin Awarded an IRRPP Faculty Fellowship Grant for AY22-23

Dr. Michael Jin has been awarded an IRRPP Faculty Fellowship Grant for AY22-23.

The grant will support his project entitled “Voices of the Unredressed: Structural Legacies of Nuclear Violence and the Meaning of Compensatory Justice” which highlights the voices of Korean and Nisei atomic bomb survivors through oral historical research in collaboration with the Atomic Bomb Resource Center in Hapcheon, South Korea. It is a project that will culminate in a public history project that will be featured at the Center as well.

Dr. Michael Jin is an Assistant Professor of Global Asian Studies and History. He is also a member of UIC’s Diaspora Studies Cluster. His research and teaching interests focus on migration and diaspora studies, transnational Asia and the Pacific Rim world, Asian American history, critical race and ethnic studies, and historical memory.
