Instructor: Karen Su, PhD

Students in the Introduction to Asian American Literature (Fall 2020 and Spring 2021) were encouraged to try out different kinds of writing in addition to argument papers focusing on literary analysis. The following showcase features creative writing pieces, illustration, and book reviews. One very popular short story that inspired many students was The Woman Who Made Swell Doughnuts by Toshio Mori from the anthology Aiiieeeee! An Anthology of Asian American Writers edited by Frank Chin, Jeffery Paul Chan, Lawson Fusao Inada, and Shawn Wong (Third Edition). To read the original story, please click HERE.
